Could you offer criminal justice career advice?

Dear readers,I intend to obtain a BA in criminal justice,so could you tell me which careers I could pursue?I may also obtain a MA,so please offer similar information if possible.Thank you.

For general career information: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search ‘police and detectives’, ’science technicians’, ’social scientists’ or such. There should be additional information and websites at the end of the entries.

Please steer clear of those online, for-profit schools (some have ‘bricks and mortar’ buildings and may be ‘accredited’) such as penn foster, ITT tech, sanford brown, everest, capella, university of phoenix, strayer, devry, argosy, colorado tech, kaplan, walden, ashworth and others as they are merely out to ‘make a profit’ (and course credits may not transfer): http://www.ripoffreport.com and can type into search.

  1. f.b.i. police departments, customs, etc. There are private security companies too. Most of them are government departments.
    You should try Forsenics Science. You are too smart for Criminal Justice, try that.

  2. Instead of just taking classes and thinking about degrees, I suggest that you take an aptitude test. An aptitude test assesses your skills and your interests and matches you to the careers that are right for you.
    Check with the high school adviser for one or your college/university (they have some awesome tests). Or, failing those, go to the workforce development agency (unemployment office) One really good one is called JobFit. Beware of the internet scams.
    Once you take the test it will help identify careers that take little or no education clear up to a doctorate. Hope this helps.
